FREDERIKSHÅB PLANTAGE
Jutland’s
green heart
Small choices can make a big difference when it comes to protecting
the environment. Whether you’re travelling, shopping, buying
groceries, taking a shower or going about everyday life – even small
changes can noticeably reduce your impact on the climate. Here are 昀椀ve
tips for holidays and experiences that keep the environment in mind.
NATURAL FLAVOURS
Across the region, you’ll 昀椀nd farm shops,
cafés and restaurants that focus on seasonal
local produce, low food waste and mindful
use of resources. Look out for the label Det
Økologiske Spisemærke, which highlights
certi昀椀ed organic dining.
OUT AND ABOUT
Hiking has long been a popular way to travel.
In The Heart of Jutland, one of Denmark’s most
well-known routes, Hærvejen, leads through
striking landscapes and past traces of Danish
history. Another option is Bindeballestien,
a 36 km route between Vejle and Billund – or
the other way around. Lace up your walking
shoes or bring your bike and head out on a
natural adventure.
EXPERIENCE NATURE UP CLOSE
Naturpark Lillebælt, one of Denmark’s largest
nature parks, is full of adventures. Guided tours,
whale safaris and hands-on learning offer
insights into how we can live in balance with
nature. Read more at naturparklillebaelt.dk/en
SLEEP WELL, FEEL GOOD
Outdoors or indoors, the region offers many
options for a good night’s sleep. Campsites,
shelters and tent sites make it easy to stay close
to nature. If you prefer a roof over your head,
look for accommodations that are labelled
as environmentally and climate friendly and
choose the place that best matches your values.
SECONDHAND TREASURES
The fashion industry is one of the major
environmental culprits. Luckily, more people
are discovering the value of clothes already
hanging in someone else’s wardrobe. In the
destination’s towns, secondhand shops invite
you to browse – your next favourite out昀椀t
might already be waiting.
